Do you offer fixed-price taxi fares across the UK?
Yes. Every journey booked with Transfers 247 comes with a fixed price confirmed at the time of booking. The amount does not change based on traffic, time of day, or route taken. What you are quoted is what you pay.
Can I book a taxi from Manchester to any UK airport?
Yes. We cover all major UK airports from Manchester, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, London City, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds Bradford, and many more. All airport fares are fixed and confirmed when you book.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We recommend booking at least two hours before your journey, and 24 hours in advance for airport pick-ups. For regular school runs or daily hire, we can set up a standing arrangement with your dedicated driver.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Your driver tracks your flight in real time. If it is delayed, your pick-up time adjusts automatically. You will not be charged extra for reasonable waiting time on airport arrivals. Simply let us know your flight number when you book.
Do you provide child or baby car seats?
Yes. We offer baby seats and child seats on request when you book. Please specify the age and weight of the child so we fit the correct seat. This service is available across all vehicle types in our fleet.
Can I bring my dog in one of your taxis?
Yes. We operate pet-friendly taxis for dogs and cats in carriers. Book a pet-friendly vehicle when you make your reservation, and your driver will be prepared. A small number of vehicles in the fleet do not accept pets, so always specify this at the time of booking.
Do you cover long-distance journeys between UK cities?
Yes. We regularly cover routes such as Manchester to London, Manchester to Glasgow, Manchester to Birmingham, and many more. All long-distance fares are fixed and agreed upfront. There are no additional charges for stopping en route, within reason.
What size groups can you accommodate?
Our fleet ranges from standard saloon cars for 1 to 4 passengers through to 16-seater minibuses for large groups. For airport groups, stag and hen parties, weddings, or corporate events, a 16-seater is often the most cost-effective option.
Are all your drivers licensed and DBS-checked?
Yes. Every driver on our platform holds a valid private hire driver licence issued by the relevant local authority, has passed an enhanced DBS criminal record check, and carries valid hire and reward insurance throughout their period of work with us.
What areas around Manchester do you cover for local taxi trips?
We cover all areas of Greater Manchester including Fallowfield, Withington, Didsbury, Chorlton, Hulme, Ancoats, Gorton, Longsight, Wythenshawe, Eccles, Middleton, Cheetham Hill, Burnage, Rusholme, Levenshulme, and all surrounding areas. We also serve Salford, Trafford, and Stockport.
Is Transfers 247 available on Christmas Day and bank holidays?
Yes. We operate every day of the year including bank holidays, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Fares on bank holidays remain fixed at the agreed price. We do not add a holiday surcharge.
What is the difference between a private hire taxi and a black cab?
A black cab (hackney carriage) can legally be hailed on the street or picked up at a taxi rank without a prior booking. A private hire vehicle, like those we operate, must be booked in advance through a licensed operator. Private hire passengers get a fixed price, a named driver, and a confirmed vehicle. These are things you do not get when hailing a cab.
